Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a magical girl anime with a dark twist. It was written by Gen Urobuchi, directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, and aired originally in Japan from January–March 2011, with the final two episodes delayed until April 2011 due to the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
The main character is Madoka Kaname.
