PPC Bioengineering Inc was a company set up to provide money for the PPC by selling products acquired from Canon worlds. Because of the actions of this organisation, athelas has become a common "secret ingredient" in Real World medicines.
The company was under the nominal authority of the PPC until the Reorganisation; during the Clover's purge of the budget, income from it was cut off. It then reverted to the control of the Mysterious Somebody at the Mary Sue Factory; since the Mysterious Somebody's death in 2006, it has presumably been operating independently, if it still exists.
