An oldbie is a PPCer who has been around for a long time—by PPC standards, two or three years. Contrast newbie.
Since the PPC began in January 2002 and has had its message board since November 2002, there are few of the original Boarder oldbies left. Jay and Acacia have long since retired, and one need only compare the signatures of the original PPC Constitution to the names on the message board to see just how high the turnover rate is; at a rough guess, and disregarding some Boarders who have stayed around a lot longer than expected, the PPC is now into its fourth or fifth generation of oldbies. Oldbies tend to hang together out of habit, but are more than happy to welcome newbies on Board.
