WORSHIP THE PYTHON! IT IS VERY MONTY!
—Kate, 'Suedom', Ch. Seven
'Run away!' echoed Nathonea and Barker. Derik, who had no idea what a python was, let alone why it should be monty, could only follow them as they made a dash for the recesses of FicPsych.

Monty Python, or 'the Pythons', is the name given to the group of six comedians—five English and one American—that created the sketch-based television programme Monty Python's Flying Circus. They were subsequently responsible for: the sketch-based film And Now For Something Completely Different; the concert films Monty Python Live At The Hollywood Bowl and Monty Python Live at Aspen; and the three feature films Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Life of Brian, and Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.

There have been several other specials and personal best films released. Eric Idle has brought two of their films to the stage: Spamalot is based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy) is based on Monty Python's Life of Brian. There have been some books detailing the careers of the Pythons, and even video games based on their material. They have also released eighteen music albums.

The six founders are:

  • John Cleese
  • Michael Palin
  • Terry Jones
  • Terry Gilliam (the lone American)
  • Eric Idle
  • Graham Chapman

Their brand of comedy is often random and chaotic, frequently breaks the Fourth Wall, is crude and/or vulgar, and is considered some of the finest and most progressive humour ever produced. Other than Graham Chapman, who sadly died, the members have gone on to be successful film stars, musicians, television presenters, writers, and all-around celebrities. They are also responsible for the modern meaning of the word "spam", via the infamous "Spam" sketch.

Monty Python and the PPC[]

Badficcers often try to write 'Pythonesque' humour and fail miserably in the attempt. Agents often quote Monty Python sketches, particularly the Dead Parrot Sketch, when undertaking an assassination. In 'Suedom', Kate and Kira often quote Monty Python, and this seems to diminish the Suefluence in the immediate area.
