Changes: Mini/My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

The minis native to the world of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic are mini-Discords, smaller versions of the continuum's native spirit of chaos and disharmony. Unlike most minis, they retain a portion of their power, and their desire for mischief can make them troublesome in large numbers, so putting more than a handful of them in any place other than the Royal Fanfiction Academy of Equestria can be a Very Bad Idea.

Canon Origin[]

Discord is a magical creature called a draconequus, with a pony head and a body made from various other animals. Discord is a sort of trickster, causing mischief and randomness. Aside from the chaotic effects Discord can produce in the physical world, he is also manipulative and able to brainwash ponies with his hypnotic gaze. His character is based on Star Trek's omnipotent trickster, Q, which is reinforced by the fact that he's voiced by John de Lancie, who played Q.

In Equestria's distant past, he was imprisoned by Princesses Celestia and Luna, who used the Elements of Harmony to turn him to stone, but he is freed when a fight between Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle breaks out at the foot of his statue. He manages to drive the Mane Six apart and turn Ponyville into a nonsensical wonderland before they reunite and, again, use the Elements of Harmony to imprison him.

In season three, he is released by Princess Celestia and manages to (mostly) reform himself with Fluttershy's care and guidance. He still enjoys playing tricks and giving misleading advice, though, even when he's "helping."
