Minis from the Big Hero 6 continuum appear as mini-Baymaxes. These minis are toddler-sized, inflatable white robots with metal armatures concealed inside. A small badge-shaped cartridge is placed on the left side of their chests that can hold four cartridge chips to contain their programming.

Unlike other minis, mini-Baymaxes are capable of speech, and have the same voice as the canon Baymax. However, mini-Baymaxes spawned from a misspelling of a character's name speak in the voice of the canon in question.

Canon Origin

Baymax is the deuteragonist of Disney's 2014 animated feature film, Big Hero 6. He is a healthcare robot and member of the superhero team known as Big Hero 6. He is based on the Marvel character of the same name from the Marvel Comics Series, Big Hero 6.

Baymax was created by the brilliant Tadashi Hamada as a healthcare providing robot nurse for the citizens of San Fransyoko and his brother, Hiro Hamada. Tadashi's goal in creating Baymax was to help improve healthcare around the world, basically wanting nothing more than to use his creation and genius for the betterment of humanity. To provide him with his programming, and overall personality, Baymax was given a special chip with Tadashi's inscriptions, which makes him the lovable robot he truly is. Without it, he can be conceived as an entirely different being. As programming would have, Baymax is instantly summoned by the sound of distress, and can only deactivate once his current patient states "I am satisfied with my care."

In the film, Tadashi first introduces Baymax as his latest project, including allowing the robot to give a brief diagnosis of Hiro. Baymax tells Hiro the code words meant to deactivate him ("I am satisfied with my care") and after Hiro says those words in confusion, the robot returns to his idle state. Later, Baymax is taken offscreen to the Hamada household, where he remained dormant, but Tadashi was tragically killed in a fire at San Fransokyo Tech, leaving Hiro to fall into deep depression. Hiro accidentally reactivates him, and after a brief conversation, the two of them discover that the sole Microbot in his possession (among many others that he had used in a science expo demonstration prior to the fire) is active and, later on, that the remaining Microbots survived the fire and that the villainous Yokai is creating more. This leads to Hiro, Baymax, and their friends working together to stop a plot by Yokai to use the Microbots, and a giant portal, to attack the city.

In the aftermath of the incident, Baymax's body was lost, but his personality chip was salvaged and used to create a new Baymax.

Baymax, Hiro, and the world of Big Hero 6 are planned to appear in Kingdom Hearts 3, with the body of the original Baymax possibly becoming controlled by the Heartless.
