Hypatia, formerly a technically unnamed Arwen replacement, is a civilian in HQ. She is written by Huinesoron.

Agent Profile

Name

The only name given to Hypatia in her origin story is 'You', but the agents concluded that she was a character replacement of Arwen Evenstar. After her memory wipe, 'some chick in FicPsych' told her that the name Hypatia meant the same thing as Arwen (Arwen translates as 'High Lady', while Hypatia means 'Highest'). It is very unlikely that she knows who she is named after.

Appearance

Hypatia looks like Arwen Evenstar, who in turn resembles Luthien Tinuviel – long black hair as dark as night, and a face fair beyond belief. It's only when you get close that you notice the vapid light in her eyes.

Personality

Hypatia is a ditz; her favourite word is 'like', and not even in a useful way. Her favourite activities are drinking, gossiping, and mucking about.

History

Hypatia began her existence in a Lord of the Rings x Men in Black crossover badfic. She was introduced as a half-elven woman who dates kings, which (in the eyes of Agents Huinesoron and Sambar) made her an Arwen-replacement.

Due to a mishap with a fresh-out-of-the-box neuralyzer, her memory was completely wiped, to the point where the badfic no longer recognised her as a Suvian influence. Unable to justify killing her, the agents brought her back to HQ.

During treatment in FicPsych, she was given the name Hypatia (after Hypatia of Alexandria, though she doesn't appear to know that). She was released from FicPsych and joined the general population of HQ; within a couple of months, she had drifted into a friendship group with Nita Kerys, the Spirit of Imagination, and Kaitlyn Jackson.

Since that point, she hasn't really changed much. It is possible that at some point she will mature and get an actual job – but nobody is really expecting it.

• 'Wanderer: Empire State of Mind' - Accidentally undergoes a complete memory wipe at the hands of Agent Huinesoron and a brand new neuralyzer. Brought to HQ.
• Named Hypatia by 'some chick in FicPsych'.

April 2015

• 'Driftwood: InterMission' - Meets Kaitlyn Jackson in a bar. Hypatia thinks they hit it off. Kaitlyn is less sure.

May 2017

• 'Driftwood: Key Moment' - Spooks Selene Windflower half to death.

19 September 2018

• 'Talk Like 15 Pirates' - Goes drinking in New Caledonia, and talks like a pirate.

19 December 2021

• New Calmas, Day 6 - Attends Kaitlyn's Hobbit Yuletide feast in New Caledonia.
