The DigiDestined are children in several of the Digimon anime series that protect the Digital World with their Digimon partner. They can be identified as being DigiDestined since they have a Digivice or similar object that helps their partner to Digivolve.
In the fourth series, the DigiDestined can become Digimon and do not have Digimon partners.
