Tigers in Middle-earth? Palm trees at Hogwarts? Call in the Department of Misplaced Flora and Fauna, who are responsible for seeing to it that only canonical plants and animals are found in the various continua.
History[]
The department was formed when Elvea (a.k.a. Meneltari, a.k.a. Mel) came across a particularly bad LotR fic containing various creatures that did not belong in Middle-earth. That one was deleted, happily, but there's no shortage of terrible fic out there. Another one reared its head, and since there was no special department for the destroying of invasive centaurs, unicorns, basilisks, etc., the DMFF was born.
Perhaps due to being rather specialized, the DMFF has always been one of the smaller departments of the PPC. It was still alive and kicking as of 2007, though, when Branwen Beaton and Sophia Cole embarked on a mission to remove ten teleporting teens from Hogwarts. Sadly, the mission was never completed.
Known Agents[]
- Branwen Beaton and Sophia Cole
- Endomiel and Ril-gania, Mel's sisters
- Joe and Meneltari, the department's original agents
- Rosalie, a naiad
