Fandom

A fandom is made up of the collective creative output of all fans of a particular canon, especially online. A fandom is not limited to fanfiction; it also includes message boards, chatrooms, fanart, fanmixes, role-playing, conventions, YouTube clips... you name it. Fandom is a primarily female domain, largely owing to its huge number of hormonal fangirls, but also includes a share of equally hormonal fanboys.

The term fandom may also refer to the state of being a fan, as in "The object of my fandom is the Potterverse."

Not to be confused with "fandumb."
